Dr. Sobia Naz Shaukat has a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Microbiology from Karachi University, Pakistan. She completed her PhD research work in collaboration with Rutgers University, USA. Her field of specialization is in Cellular & Molecular Immunology. She has extensive experience in the field of immunology of TB and HIV diseases & their co-infections and studied many relevant immune genes that play crucial role in the signal transduction process involve in immune regulations during infections. She published articles in impact factor journals and a prolific writer. In 10 years of her research experience, she has worked on several projects in collaboration with Aga khan University and Dow University. She is also trained in policy making for infection control and prevention programs from HSP. She is a member of American Society of Microbiology. Currently, she is co-supervising 3 M.Phil. & 2 Ph.D. students at DIHE, as well as teaching different courses of Microbiology & Immunology at undergraduate, graduate and post graduate level.
