“The Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education is destined to emerge as an elite and victorious institution through thick and thin. We envision it to become a Center of Excellence of International Standards to produce leaders of outstanding quality.” – This was stated by Syed Sardar Ali Shah who was the Chief Guest at the 11th convocation of the Institute yesterday at the Lawns of the PAF Museum.
The event witnessed the conferment of over 424 degrees to students in the Faculty of Business Administration, around 195 in the Faculty of Computer Science, Law degrees to some six students under the Faculty of Law and more than a dozen in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Murtaza Wahab, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Law & anti-corruption apprised the graduating students of the events which led his return to Pakistan; as he felt that this country had the maximum opportunities for the youth and innumerable strengths to draw from. He praised the initiative of the Dadabhoy Family & lauded their efforts to promote education in the masses as a public service.
The event was attended by cross section of media and civil military guests who applauded the clockwork manner in which various aspects of the event were executed.
On this occasion the education minister assured his unflinching support of the Sindh Govt. to DIHE through Sindh Education Foundation and he also acknowledged DIHE’s efforts to restructure, reform and transform to Dadabhoy University.
The Chairman, Mr. Abdullah Dadabhoy congratulated the graduating students on the completion of their education and hoped that they could be good human beings in their respective societies because life is full of turmoil, ups and downs but they have to be steadfast in their resolution and serve their country and their families” Speaking on the occasion the Rector of the institute, Prof. Dr. Abbas Choudhary informed the audience of the various measures taken by the institute to enhance the quality of teaching & research and automate various functions particularly in the area of degree attestation and admissions. He also informed that the overall student-teacher ratio had been improve and brought to 25:1; this he said had been possible as a result of induction of 25 PhDs in the full time Faculty. Both the Chairman and he Rector also identified the fact that in the effort of the institute to promote quality education at affordable cost as much as rupees 32 million is being offered to students in scholarships and financial assistance annually. The Rector also urged the students that to succeed in life they must have a passion, enjoy what they do and not live somebody else’s life. Lastly, the Rector emphasized on the importance of reading to keep the learning curve on the rise.
